the USA is a homeland for everyone, regardless of religion or ethnicity

Ask the Mexicans their opinion on that one. They don't feel so invited. America has had various rather stringent controls on immigration since the 1920s, and has often consciously favored whites over Chinese or other non-whites. Though this crieteria has eased, there is no quesiton it is easier to get into America from some places than others.

Elroy, like I've written in two previous posts, there are historical reasons for it. Did you bother reading the snopes.com article I linked? Israel was intended to be a sanctuary by the people who founded it for Jews because no other country would accept Jews even when it was pretty clear that they faced a terrible fate if they weren't accepted. That is how most Jews see it. Most Jews would prefer that it not be necessary. But it is.

I'm getting tired of this little to-do. I repeat what I said before--Jewish people believe that humans should receive equal treatment before the law, like the US and, in principle, like many countries in this world. Does any country actually practice that belief fully? The honest answer is no. Just for starters, people with wealth are treated differently everywhere. Or at least nearly everywhere. So cut the righteous crap, OK? You've pointed to an "imperfection" in Israel. Fine. You can point to imperfections in every country. Including, for example, how they treat immigrants. Which country treats immigrants well? Not many. At least if they have immigration in any numbers relative their population and they don't have an abundance of extra land for them to settle on.
