Actually, with respect to Barack Obama, I was also initially struck by how articulate he was, but it had more to do with his calm, measured delivery as well as the generally well thought out answers. He had a way of getting intimate with the audience through his delivery and presentation.

This is a rare gift, and you also get the impression he is genuinely sincere in his convictions he presents.

Bill Clinton had the same gift, but he also had this sly edge to him underneath that shiny exterior. I think people were drawn to that edge as well as the persona, and I think the edge is something Obama may be missing right now.

Bill Clinton actually draws life from connecting with people, and that's something I think we're missing from many of the candidates.

Few of them pass the beer test like Bill Clinton and George W. Bush did.

Good God.
I was complimenting Obama and not because he is black.
It gets to being pretty FN insane when you can not sincerely say and mean that a person is articulate.

Is this word now on the banned word list?

My point is that highly intelligent articulate people can propose stupid ideas.
