We are not an island...not in todays global economy...its head in the sand stuff.... I had to have a yellow fever shot on my first trip to the African continent...it made me sick as a dog for a few days...but the alternative is much worse....I think that is the way you need to look at it...until these diseases are eradicated from the globe as a whole, we are at risk in the US given the way our world works. That said, I do believe in strict border control for security reasons but many people who enter legally and are asymptomatic can cause a problem just as easily as an illegal entrant... J.
