i believe most clam spots that are commercial require special washing process before they can opened or packaged for resale.

i think they take their product to a special washing plant to get the product approved for resale.

i did spend one sunday morning in an old hut, opening little necks and pouring them into a metal container. i was with a neighbor and his dad. Four men had this side clam business. can you imagine trying to get that through today. g

Wow... that sounds bad! Never heard of it before, but I guess we're not in much danger of it around here...LOL. Instead, we have temperature inversions which makes our air nearly unbreathable at certain times of the year.
