Why are the slums in Gaza and the WB considered to be among the worst on the planet?!?

They are? Who says so? Compared to the slums in Brazil, the Congo?

The evidence I have seen point out that the nasty Palestinian slums are in Lebanon. Israel tried to improve conditions in the territories and put them on the Israeli grid, which is why they get half their power and water from Israel. They tried to move people into better housing to, but the PLO objected - they wanted to make sure the people stayed in "refugee camps" for political reasons.

I have seen documentaries made in the WB where people went into a house that looked like a forbidding concrete block structure from the outside, but inside it was really nice. The kithchen had granit counters, no kidding. And this was a Palestinain made documentary. The shots taken in Lebanon looked much worse.

They endure days on end without water or electricity in 110 degree heat

They do, but the BBC never mentioned it? How strange, the BBC is always ready to voice their complaints. I think you're confusing them with Baghdad. I heard of one power outage recently when an electric plant failed.

Which is not even to mention that the conditions are absolutely the result of the Pal leadership's choices.

The Pals are poor compared to the Israelis, but not compared to Sub Saharan Africa or other really poor places.

Come on, I'm calling you on this one. Where is your evidence?

bobby, please point out the Pal statements that express the feeling that desperation is driving them to terrorism.

If you can't do that, then 'desperation as a cause for terrorism' is something YOU are reading into the situation rather than something the Palestinians express for themselves.

They don't have to feel what you think they are likely to feel. I prefer to go on their own statements.
