I too see a retest of the lows (the S&P500 1380 area before the market starts ascending in earnest into election year sometime in late October.

My concern is the 2008 estimate of S&P500 earnings. With all of the "sub-prime" fallout and commotion, I am unaware of any significant downward revisions of this estimate. The current estimate in Bob's September letter may be too high. Do you think it would be logical to expect such downward revisions?
