That's the nicest features of San Diego, clear skies most every day and usually dry to the point you've got to take care of your skin. I'll tell ya, if the housing market didn't suck so bad here it would be perfect. My wife and I are just starting to look at homes. Prices here have started to come down but we're waiting for the other shoe to drop.

My father was stationed on North Island back in 59 and we had a house over on D street in Chula Vista. Back then there was no 805, just a bunch of eucalyptus groves and tomato orchards. I haven't had a good tomato since then... I had a chance to visit my old neighborhood when I was transfered to N.I. myself. I was riding around on my motorcycle, pulled up to the house and just sat there for a while trying to remember what it was like, when an old lady pulled into the driveway. She'd obviously just gone grocery shopping and started unloading her car, so I came over, introduced myself and offered to help her unload. I told her I'd lived there as a kid and was curious what the house looked like now. To my amazement she gave me a tour. I was stunned when I saw how small it was, I remember it as rather large... How my parents and 6 kids fit in there without killing each other I'll never know....<g>
