It was interesting they said that the new office in Mexico City consolidates the company's previous resources in Mexico. What were those previous resources?

Anyway, I'm glad they're leaving their offices in Brazil and Argentina untouched.

Do not understand the recent dismal downward share price movement. No real company-specific news to explain it. Is this all just a reflection of broader market angst over the US or global economy?

Harris Stratex Networks Earns Certification From Metro Ethernet Forum
Monday September 24, 9:00 am ET

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX - News), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless transmission solutions, announced today that its Eclipse(TM) carrier Ethernet wireless transport platform has received certification from the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). The MEF certification program provides service level benchmarks for manufacturers' equipment and service provider performance in complex Ethernet-based networks. Eclipse is the first wireless product to meet the requirements of both MEF 9 and MEF 14 technical specifications.

MEF 9 defines the certification requirements and test suite for Ethernet transport equipment, including functional, conformance, interoperability and performance criteria. MEF 14 goes further by defining service level specification (SLS) requirements for Ethernet services and by testing service performance and bandwidth attributes. MEF 14 tests provide a baseline performance level designed to significantly minimize interoperability issues in complex networks and enable service providers to deploy carrier Ethernet services with confidence.

Eclipse is the industry-leading nodal backhaul solution from Harris Stratex Networks. It enables operators to deploy carrier Ethernet wireless networks that deliver TDM-class reliability by supporting high-speed native Gigabit Ethernet with intelligent Layer 2 quality of service (QoS) controls and features, including IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation and patent-pending Resilient Wireless Packet Ring (RWPR(TM)) technology from Harris Stratex Networks. Eclipse is currently the only wireless solution able to transport and manage all the carrier Ethernet services because of its unique Layer 2 features. Eclipse was certified to operate at the user network interface (UNI) to deliver compliant Ethernet Private Line (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) and Ethernet Local Area Network (E-LAN) services.

The MEF is a global alliance of more than 120 leading vendors for the telecommunications sector. The forum's core objective is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. Harris Stratex Networks has taken a leadership role in the MEF Mobile Backhaul Working Group, which is tasked with defining and promoting carrier Ethernet service requirements in future mobile and cellular backhaul networks.

"We are proud to be a supporter and active member of the Metro Ethernet Forum. Our mission is to provide wireless carrier Ethernet transport and to comply with all services defined by the operators," said Paul Kennard, chief technology officer, Harris Stratex Networks. "We understand that a next generation carrier Ethernet network can be as reliable as traditional TDM transport as long as the Layer 2 functions are implemented -- this is what we have been doing for the last three years on the Eclipse platform.

"Our work with the MEF has been instrumental in the success of our Eclipse carrier-class Ethernet wireless transport solution," Kennard continued. "Our expertise has enabled us to lead the market in the development of wireless transport systems for large-scale, multiservice Ethernet networks, including next-generation mobile network infrastructure and networks deploying WiMAX and other service delivery technologies."

Harris Stratex Networks Demonstrates Carrier Ethernet Interoperability; Demo Results being Showcased at Carrier Ethernet World Congress

Monday September 24, 9:30 am ET

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX - News), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless transmission solutions, today announced its participation in the largest multi-vendor interoperability demonstration ever staged for Carrier Ethernet products. Organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC), the trial tested over 65 devices over a two-week period at EANTC's facility in Germany, including Harris Stratex Networks' Eclipse(TM) wireless transport platform and products from more than 20 other leading vendors. The test focused specifications defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), the leading body for Carrier Ethernet standards. Results will be publicly showcased at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress trade show held September 24-28 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Harris Stratex Networks participated in this annual event for the past three years, and successfully demonstrated the capability of Eclipse to deliver carrier-class Ethernet traffic with TDM-class reliability, enabling operators to deploy carrier wireless Ethernet networks and offer traditional and emerging high-bandwidth services with confidence.

The unique Eclipse Layer 2 carrier wireless Ethernet features were demonstrated in various multi-vendor scenarios that included PBT Metro and T-MPLS Metro and Access environments. The tests successfully conducted included a demonstration of the Eclipse Layer 2 QoS (Quality of Service) controls, where the radio manages traffic in the event of an aggregated or parallel path failing, Link Aggregation to IEEE 802.3ad, showing the capability of Eclipse to switch seamlessly back from a link aggregation re- route, and E-LINE point-to-point and E-LAN multipoint-to-multipoint Ethernet services, including successfully transporting a multicast video stream used in Video/IPTV applications. Harris Stratex Networks was also able to successfully demonstrate and test its patent-pending Rapid Wireless Protected Ring (RWPR(TM)) feature for enhanced carrier Ethernet network resiliency.

"We have been proud to support the EANTC's interoperability trials since their inception in 2005, and see this latest trial as further confirmation of our market leadership in providing carrier wireless Ethernet solutions," said Paul Kennard, chief technology officer, Harris Stratex Networks. "We successfully tested our Eclipse GigE transport solution in a variety of vendor and network scenarios which clearly demonstrated the benefits of our unique Layer 2 features in delivering carrier Ethernet resilience."
