re: Its called improved productivity.

Maybe. It's also called more low paying service jobs and fewer high paying manufacturing jobs.

How does manufacturing growth compare to GDP growth?

Its called improved productivity.

Try charting farm employment. The fact that we produce more food than we used to doesn't mean we employ a lot more farmers. Far fewer are employed in agriculture than in the past. But that's a good thing. Higher productivity is the only way to get sustained improvement in per capita production (and thus income and consumption)

Dang, you really are into the koolaid......in fact, you drank the entire keg.

The US is a service economy. Why? Because your precious corps. want to make every penny they can and when they can't find cheap rural labor or illegals to do their work in this country, they run their asses overseas because they absolutely no loyalty or committment to this country. None. Zilch. Nada. Zero.

And you best get used to losing more manu. jobs. Why? Because your trickled down koolaid of an economy is putting us into the toilet.......not only we are spending tons of money just to service our debts and run a stupid war in Iraq, but the American infrastructure is falling apart. When workers can't get to work because of falling bridges or overcapacity on freeways, your corp. friends will move every out as fast as they can. How do you like dem apples, Mr. Corp. Shill?
