ch, if it were poverty and despair that caused suicide bombing, then it should occur in places that are full of poverty and despair, like SubSaharan Africa and Latin America, and lots of other places. But we don't. We can also point to very many suicide bombers who were trained engineers like Mohammed Atta, or middle class students, or engaged to be married, etc etc So it's safe to say that "poverty and despair" are insufficient explanations. Perhaps we should try looking for another factor, one that is present in all the cases.
