Crimson > DePaul University in Chicago, where Norman G. Finkelstein, the most heroic critic of U.S. and Israeli policy in Palestine ever to set foot in the U.S. academy, was denied tenure over nearly three months ago

Finkelstein tried to speak truth to power and became a victim. His battle with dePaul is lost and to waste more time in order to obtain redress or satisfaction for the arbitrary refusal of his tenure is futile. He should leave as soon as possible and pursue his career elsewhere.

> Faculty and administrators that I respect, people to whom I have turned to for advice and guidance in the short time I have been at DePaul, have repeatedly cowered in the face of various pressures within and external to the university around the political persecution of Norman G. Finkelstein. Most DePaul faculty have preferred to simply stay out of the way, justifying their inaction with statements such as “Perhaps the administration has information that we don’t” or “We don’t know what happened in that room when Finkelstein met with the University Board.”

This says it all -- they don't want him. End of story.

> Matthew Abraham is an assistant professor of English at DePaul University

Let me whisper in your ear that Matthew Abraham has also reached the end of his career at DePaul. Henceforth, he will be known as a "troublemaker" who is unsuited to lecture to students. Later, on some or other pretext, he will be asked to leave.
