Certainly doesn't seem to be as frequent as a few years back. The attempts are still coming at a lower rate. You can read about them in the Israeli press. It will just take a death rate of more than 20 to hit the wires; that hasn't happened in a while, since the Israelis are successfully stopping 9/10 of the attempts through a combination of checkpoints and raids into the West Bank to destroy the cells before they can send the bomber. So the latest tactic is to launch Qassams from Gaza, where the IDF does not (at the moment) have a presence, then the minute the rocket is launched, send some ten year old kids out to retrieve the launcher. The Israelis usually try to destroy the launchers, which they can pick out quickly, so if they kill the kids its a double score for Hamas. If they notice the kids in time and spare the launcher, that's a score too.Wise, well-informed, and co-operative foreign policy between Western nations, especially the dominant superpower of the United States, and Islamic societies is the only solution worth pursuing The underlying premise behind such statements is that such "wise, well-informed, and co-operative" policies are possible - that Islamic societies are, at bottom reasonable, and have legitimate gripes that can be addressed by negotiation. So let's notice where we part company. You side with those who say it is always so - the other fellow is reasonable, you just have to use some wisdom to figure it out. I say it ain't necessarily so. Sometimes what the other fellow really truly wants is to kill you. At that point, suicide, flight or fighting become your only options, seek wise and co-operative policies how you may. Most of what I post here is pointing out evidence that radical Islamist societies - note I do not say all Muslim societies - really have a bottom line that is full of non-negotiable demands for the destruction of Israel and America. It is a vision of the world propelled by religious fanaticism. The left today is so secular, they really seem unable to believe in religious motivation.
