Nuclear weapons are supposed to be under very tight control. When one moves when its not supposed to move, there will be a hubub, whether its kept secret (as it probably has been in the past), with the hubub confined to those with high security clearances and some "need to know", or it becomes public like this story, its not considered something to ignore.

Did someone at Barksdale try to indirectly warn the American people that the Bush Administration is staging nukes for Iran?

Seems very unlikely on multiple levels. One I don't think that the administration will attack Iran at all. If they do I doubt very much that they will use nukes. I consider the possibility to be a fraction of a percent, probably a small fraction. And if they did have the plan, the people at Barksdale probably wouldn't know about it until shortly before the attack was launched. If Bush is going to nuke Iraq he isn't going to do it out of the blue, there would be more escalation and talking about the issue (not directly that nukes will be used, and maybe not even that there will be an attack at all, but there would be more posturing and more "axis of evil" type talk, and more attempts to line up support for getting tough on Iran.

And even if an attack is imminent and people at Barksdale new about it, calling attention to this nuke would be a very inefficient way to get your message out.

All in all the theory doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

This may be worse than you can imagine. I have it on reliable authority that a delivery of hog bellies was delivered to the Barksdale AFB Commissary. Since Barksdale is a staging base for the Middle East, we should connect the dots and conclude that those hog bellies are intended for Iran.

Scary stuff.
