1943--My Grandad died and my oldest brother shipped out with the USMC to the pacific the week I was born. My mother interpreted that to mean that he would die and I would replace him. Well, though he was wounded twice he did return, in fact 3 of us 4 brothers fought in various wars, one in two of them and we all survived. jdn
