Spot is now $695, but it's been rather quiet and subdued since noon NY time -- which begs the question of whether buyers will back off at $700 on this go-round, or if they're ready to pile in with both feet.

Today seems to have have been a singularly good day for gold and generally a yawn for most everything else, including DXY, i.e. today was not exactly a crisis in the markets (at least not on the surface) -- so, a curious move in gold in that context.

Interest rate cut anticipation? A coming economic implosion? Israelis strafing Syria? All or those things? None of those things? What a casino the world has become
