I'm not one to think that the financial sector needs too much more regulation. Government doesn't have a stellar record of solving problems. Ever heard that old saying: "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you."?

I'da been against spending taxpayer dollars to "stop" speculators, investors and dumb homebuyers from shooting themselves in the feet. I'm against bailing them out with my tax dollars, too.

The banks will survive this mess. That's all most of the rest of us care about in the end, anyway.
