It creeps me out that we have a President that claims to get counsel from an imaginary being.

<<The left today is so secular, they really seem unable to believe in religious motivation>>

And good for them for being so inclined.

Even though it causes them to misread large segments of the world which are currently driven by religious motives?

From my own point of view I feel its the blatant hypocricy of religious motivation that drives people to the left and a more secular logic.

Either you are misusing the word hypocrisy or you do not believe that anybody can sincerely have a religious motivation. Which is it?

the origins of liberal thought has been in reaction to religious dogma and intolerance.

consider the Enclyclopedists of pre revolutionary france and their struggle against the society of jesus(jesuits)who dominated much of catholic europe in the 18th century.

think also of Masons

our founding fathers were considered no better than terrorist by the monarchs and leaders of europe.

democracy was seen as a cancer eating away at the heart of civilization.
