"Who designated hispanics as a minority anyway?"

The same people who designated women as a protected class.

karen in major cities since immigration coming over from europe you have numerous ethnic city blocks. where i grew up norht of boston you had polish italian and irish mixed in. all democrat never heard of republicans until i heard barry goldwater and he got my vote.
now a city like Revere was mostly italian.. east boston mostly italian and very safe as no one was afraid to walk the streets at night back. If any young lady got hurt , the person just disappeared. the north end of boston was italian and may still be . then you had a part of boston that they destroyed to make way for the government center, i think that was Irish, then south boston mostly irish, Roxbury was mostly irish then turn to minority. same with dorchester. nyc has the same areas by ethic groups as well as chicago, baltimore, philadelphia. In these areas the second, third generations do not move more than a few blocks from home. the family values and support is so strong most continue to live in the area.

Ca. i assume kept growing so fast there was no time for roots except in well established areas.. When i moved into arcadia.. several neighbors came over with cake and soda and introduced themselves to us and offered to help at any time. both neighbors on either side were always there and helpful. When i told people this at work they couldn't believe it. Most never met their next door neighbor after leaving in area for ten years.gg

Oh where i grew up is now minority and vietnam folks and other asian groups. you do not walk in the area in day time never mind going there at night. No mexicans.
