Only when you add

"Then there's the fact that in the new Paul Krugman's world, there seem to be only two explanatory variables for anything that ails you, me, or the economy: an unexplained secular increase in the general nastiness of rich people; and the Bush administration. This is not a very good model of the world...

Of course that's not true.......those are not the only issues that Krugman brings up but they are two very important ones. As for "the unexplained secular increase in the general nastiness of rich people", please this nastiness is not new.....the rich are always pushing for a better cut of the pie. In the 90s Clinton gave them some of what they were pushing hard for.....a tax cut and the capital gains tax reduced to 20%. Was that good enough......of course not. Bush gave them three more tax cuts and reduced the capital gains tax to 15%. He's all but given away the store.

Stop shilling for the rich........its hurting your credibility.

As for the Bush administration, the only time its competent is when its screwing things up. That's the only time it excels.

...when there is a conflict between

1) proving that Bush is a monstrous amalgam of the worst excesses of Andrew Jackson, Herbert Hoover, Warren Harding, and Adolf Hitler

He's pretty bad in so many ways that it leaves me almost speechless that a country of 300 million people could elect someone quite so incompetent......and that out of 300 million people he's considered one of the best.

2) writing in a clear and accurate fashion about the underlying economic principles and data involved

#2 is too often the priority that must give way.

You've lost me.
