40 years ago my mother used to shuck the corn, blanch it, cut it off the cob and seal it in freezer bags. If it's going to be frozen for a couple of weeks I freeze it in the husks, if longer I plastic wrap it as it will dry some.

One year I gave a farmer a stray cat and he gave me a garbage bag full of corn. That's back when you got a bag of sweet corn seed tossed in with your seed order. I put the unsealed bag in the freezer and it worked fine as I would thaw out a couple of ears, cut the corn off the ears and heat it in milk and butter. Being a little dry it sucked up the butter.
