"Quite different than this country on so many levels that your post is just silly."

Right, Tim. Why not descend into irrelevancies?

The death camps weren't an inevitable outgrowth of Fascism. The mutual backscratching between corporations and government under Fascism was well documented. In fact, in the 1930s, close cooperation between government and companies was considered to be the prime characteristic of fascism. As has been noted before.

Ignoring all the lack of death camps and such in the US, and focusing on the narrower topic that we've been talking about, the role of the companies. In a fascist economic system they are expected to adjust production, prices, and employment in arbitrary ways if the government sees such a change as being in its interest.

In ways that benefit the corporations which ultimately benefit the gov't. Like when the GOP Congress approved subsidies for the oil interests.......or when defense industries are allowed to bid with no competition which has happened frequently under the Bush administration. You're looking for a Hitler with a swastika. Anyone imposing fascism now would know that and purposely present themselves as something very different from Hitler. However, its the end results that are the same such as subsides for oil companies, indiscriminate wiretapping, lying in order to go to war, legislating that corn be the only source of ethanol when sugar cane would be the better choice, etc. What do you think Hitler told the German people when he invaded Poland?
