I called AMD for single digits many months ago

What took you so long? That wasn't in the context of claiming that either Intel or the whole market would also collapse, was it?

AMD continues to have a far superior platform that Intel hopes to copy in a year or so

I wouldn't say "far" superior. And "copy" is wrong, too. "Leapfrog" is more accurate.

re: I called AMD for single digits many months ago. You do have a couple of people trying to maintain some balance pointing out that Intel made many billions while it was in a similar position in terms of relative performance, AMD continues to have a far superior platform that Intel hopes to copy in a year or so, and AMD walks all over Intel performance in some areas despite being nearly a full process node behind in their FABs.

Hmmpff. Keep dreaming Dan. The only reason AMD did well is that they had (and still have) a superior architecture at a time when Intel was on a totally different path. Now they're not. And Tigerton takes most of that advantage away. Nehelem will be yet another level above AMD's architecture and AMD has no response.

AMD is no Intel. You should not expect the same result given the same conditions.
