Todays jobs report will provide all the cover the Fed will need to cut.

You have itemized the real reasons they were going to cut however todays report, whatever the reality of the situation might be, was tailor made to cover BB's butt...

Great blog !

After today, the rate cut watch begins.

Could today's barely negative payroll be manufactured from thin air by the Ministry of Truth ?

-4000 is the best number to report that one could think of, below 0 to give them cover for a rate cut and to lift bonds, but not that bad as to proclaim that economy is in deep trouble yet.

Russ: What are your feelings about gold going forward. If you like gold what is the best fund/etc to buy. In your opinion where is the best place to park assets going forward in the next few months and in 2008?

Thanks.
