I think you are right on that. Civil servants who report directly to politicians think like the politicians.

Any HONEST Cop will tell you they no longer can protect you against bodily violence. The best they can do is come in after the fact and try and find the perpetrator. Even there in some neighborhoods, due to fear, its becoming less and less likely the police will find the offender. (people wont talk). We have that problem right now in Northern Palm Beach County (Riviera Beach) and its inching toward middle Palm Beach County (Lake Worth area). There are gangs now roving about and I am sure our problem here is probably slight compared to that of the big northern cities like Baltimore, Washington D.C. and the like. Fla. passed a law awhile back allowing citizens to defend themselves. Overall, violent crime has subsided ever since. jdn
