Did you ever see his campaigning for gov of TX from 15 yrs ago...fast-paced dynamic speech. I saw that on some tv program about him...It could be he's always malapropped, but he definitely used to be clear, coherent, confident...big contrast to that, his presidential speeches have been slow, bumbling - almost as though there's a disconnect between him and what he says. forget about extemporaneous bush talks...that's where he's made some of his most hilarious comments - Is our children learning, etc.

I think Bush is an outstanding public speaker when he speaks off the cuff from his heart. He gets in trouble when speechwriters write his speeches for him. jdn
