Hey, I think I am the oldest person posting here. Your thought for the day really set me to thinking about age. I think I would only want to achieve 100 years or more if my quality of life was excellent, i.e, able to live unassisted and competent, still retaining my sense of humor and all of my teeth and better yet, still have enough money to live in the style I am accustomed to. That might be a big order, don't you think? The only thing I think I can rely on for sure is that I would still have all of my teeth, root canals and caps included. <gg> If the democrats retain the presidency during my later years, I might not have enough assets to live in the style I am accustomed to because of major tax increases on property and income taxes for their pork bills. They always want to spend our money. Maybe I should think about burying money in my backyard but the squirrels might dig it up and hide it elsewhere, so that might not be a good idea and it wouldn't return interest, come to think of it. I would just flip my gourd if I did that and it was gone when I went to retrieve it. If you have any good ideas, they are welcomed here just in case.

My MIL saved her burial money in an old sock sewed together at the top and never told any of the family about it. Whew, that was a big surprise when we found it with a note included what it was for. At the time we thought that was a unique thing for her to do and were quite happy about it. She always told her children they might not inherit anything but her home, but she wouldn't leave them with any debts either and she didn't.
