I don't touch it because it is illegal. I live near a drug-free zone, a school. I don't know what the penalties are, but it is illegal and also carries a social stigma around here. They really discourage the kids from using drugs, but I think they are talking about stronger stuff like Meth, that almost ruined a daughter of a friend. One time we were driving down the road near an Orange Grove and my wife said "what is that smell". I said I think the oranges are in blossom and it is quite fragrant. We pulled up to a stop light and these two big dude Mexicans with scowls were smoking up a storm. I avoided their stare, but I told my wife, "you are right again!" I am unusual in that I tend to follow the law nowadays, except for speeding 5 or 10 mph over the limit. If grass was legal, I'd probably smoke at night instead of a glass (or four) of wine. Way back when, nobody I know used those white powder drugs, cause that stuff was $100/gram and that was a heap o' money back then. You'd be broke real quick doing that. Grass was cheap and very mild stuff too. Back in the 90's they starting making it so strong it would knock you out, I couldn't handle it and quit, partially cause it got too strong and costly, mostly just lost interest. In Sweden they had beer that was real weak and they drank it at work. In Brighton, England, I had fourteen pints at a nightclub one night and my friend asked me if I had a hangover the next morning, I said No don't even think I got high. So we asked some guys at work what the heck was going on? They took us to a pub where if you drank four pints, the bitter was free, I had two, I believe. That was some good stuff. Back then the pubs were only open certain hours, they would close in the afternoon. What I am trying to say here is they is drugs and they is DRUGS. They is legal and they is ILLEGAL but that don't make them intrinsically good nor bad. It's what you do with them that counts. Now some folks have addictive personalities or brains, but some drugs are addictive too. Here's my take on drugs: Cigars - OK on occasion Pipes - sometimes have a nice fragrence, but not for me Cigs - #$%*&@ the worst addictive killer known Tea - OK especially ICED and mild, OK hot with milk Coffee - good for the morning but not too much will make you jittery Beer, Wine - better hold it down, no driving and watch your personality, can be dangerous in excess, addictive-must be used in moderation Hard Liquor - this can be dangerous, be very careful MJ - mostly benign, tolerance develops, can cause laziness, may be gateway drug to cigarettes or alcohol White or brown powders - **@(#$@ killers STAY AWAY Zocor - wonder drug synthroid - good for those that need it aspirin - OK Opium - best used in the den with a special pipe in exotic places SSRIs - possibly extremely dangerous, favored by doctors as substitute for lobotomy, may cause disastrous consequences for innocent bystanders Oxycotin - may cause hearing loss, must be bad valium - mother's little helper, addictive, too much too often is bad, Could be harmful to your health LSD - must be used under supervision and rarely Coca leaves - Ok, like aspirin for altitude sickness Herbal tea - no problem PCP - this sh*t is for horses Crack - crap stay away Xtasy - what the Heck is that? Now they have invented new drugs in the last few years, and I assume they are ALL BAD and ALL DANGEROUS, the ones that are sold surreptitiously. The good old days are gone forever, just hazy memories. Three Dog Night is doing a rock and roll cruise and Keith Richards is falling out of trees and Jerry is Dead and nothing is going to bring it back. And that's all I have to say about that.
