If they had to compete on pure merit, they would have lost billions in the P4 era and AMD would have earned billions. If the justice department and court systems worked as they are supposed to, Intel would have had its executives in jail and be forced to pay $15 billion in actual damages and $30 billion in punitive damages for 2001-2006. AMD would have got $15 billion and the public would have gotten $30 billion. The lawyers and court system would get the taxes on that $45 billion easily paying for their time and resources used. Pete
