Oh. Does he mean that the teacher (professor) is conservative? That's the only way to be unorthodox in academia.

For the rest, it just sounds like it's going to be a mess. Three intertwined stories? And given RR's and Carnahan's attitudes, I bet it'll be as preachy as M*A*S*H was at the end, without the sentimental attachment to the characters. It'll get good reviews, though.
