Coleen Rowley: Never Doubt That a Small Group of Thoughtful, Committed Neocons Can Destroy the World (If We Let Them):

Neocons are conservative Jewish journalists and politicians linked to the Right-wing Israeli Likud who support United States corporate, political, cultural and military imperialism with the use of preemptive World War if necessary-- without ruling out preemptive nuclear strikes-- to rid themselves of the Muslim Menace.

ALL this stuff about the Democrats being a lock to win in 2008 is total BS.

UNLESS the Party in power has an incumbent running, then all bets are off.

If the popularity and success of the previous presidency were THAT important, then Richard Nixon would have been elected in 1960 and Al Gore would have been elected in 2000.

The closest parallel to this year's election would probably be 1968. But even that election had so many outside variables that it can't be used as a comparison.

BOTH nominees will be running as alternatives to the previous administration in 2008 and the candidate that makes that case the best will probably be elected.

dems will clobber the GOP in congress and the senate but the Whit House is up for grabs. I wish Gore would enter. A friend of his told me he hates Hillary. Interesting. That could be a motivation.
