I agree that Greenspan probably made things worse with stimulus near the top of the Naz bubble, but you need to understand that Y2K itself was a legitimate IT boom. True, there were hucksters selling dopey stuff like "offshore coding factories" and whatnot. But you always get charlatans around such major events. Lots of useless stuff was sold to gullible rubes during the California gold rush, but that doesn't meant the gold rush was a hoax.
