All good points Neal. I agree with you :-) I wouldn't have bothered to call the attitudes/programs liberal except for Dale's statement that liberalism had imploded. I don't even think it really imploded politically- any more than conservatism will implode because they reps are out of power because of Iraq (should they continue to be out of power because of Iraq.) But that's big picture. Little picture, pure politics, I think it all comes down to charisma of the candidate- because the American voters tend to be surface voters, and they don't really delve in to issues, unfortunately. So packaging and charisma are where it's at. JMO, of course.
