I haven't contacted our insurance company yet. The bee removal charges were much greater than the repair bid and thought I might not make a claim as then our insurance rate would probably rise and also, I think our deductible is larger than all the cost combined. The young man and his helper who is a female, for what they have done has been very satisfactory. We have had so much rain it slowed down their working time so all has not been completed. They show up and if it starts to cloud up, they secure everything and leave.

Bee removal: $1,845.25 (2 hives in different walls, E brick and W wood), Reconstruction: $1,435.00 for a total of $3,280.25.

We thought this was a reasonable cost for all work done. Our insurance premiums are very high and this year we raised our deductible to a larger amount. In twenty eight years we have only had one matter of importance to file a claim and that was from a lightening strike in our neighbors back yard pool which blew out our security alarm system, electricity and phone system and broke window pains and ceiling to floor windows across the back of the house. Those were high priced replacement repairs. Our insurance premiums went up a thousand dollars the next year. This year they did a survey and raised our premiums about twelve hundred more a year. We have same like replacement value on our policy.
