"He stated that HE prepared the report to Congress, and it was not vetted or "approved" by either the Pentagon or the White house."

Really?

Well, that would be VERY INTERESTING... because that would totally CONTRADICT what the WH has been telling everyone for (literally) *weeks* now.

(Did the WH cave-in to public demands? Have they issued a retraction? Or is there some other explanation or some confusion being spread around?)

MUCH like to learn the answer.....

(Maybe they are talking about two COMPLETELY *DIFFERENT* 'reports'? I.e., the classified one presented to the WH... and now this one? If so... I wonder... did the WH vet his 'second report'? Get to edit it? Delete anything too 'sensitive'?)

Ah!

Looks like 'mystery solved'... it's TWO 'reports'.

The report the General delivered to the WH remains classified, (& neither Congress, nor public will see it according to WH), while what the General delivered to Congress today was something different, "written testimony" (or "written remarks" if you prefer...).

Not the same things. Two different things.

White House spokesman Tony Snow said today the administration had ``not shaped'' the assessments. ``This is independent testimony prepared by two career professionals,'' he told reporters. Petraeus told the hearing he had written his testimony and not shared it with his superiors before delivering the remarks today.
