The jury is still out isn't Gottfried.

As I have always understood Paul Desmond's work the 90% downside days can pile up as a bottom is formed but an actual bottom is formed only after a 90% upside day or two 80% upside days in close succession.

Hedge funds could have changed that for sure. There is no certain future that can be based solely on the repeat of history.

History is written every single day.

That said I think that until we go lower than we did in August that we may not be rewriting history just yet.

All market bottoms have retests.
