I agree, the Fed is reactive, as they always have been. Their
response has to be based on data, and data is by definition a
bit too late. The stock market has not been a good leading
indicator lately either. -g-

My best guess is a 25bp. cut, and NOT a 50 bp. cut
(they have roughly equal probability) given all the tough
talk, but if
you are right and they dare to challenge the fed funds
futures at this time, then I don't think stocks will like
that. -g- They have to make some tough choices, or
