Slanderous star

" 'We've killed over 400,000 of their citizens.' That's what actor Tim Robbins thinks U.S. troops have been doing in Iraq. He made [that statement] ... in an appearance on HBO's 'Real Time with Bill Maher.'

"He's wrong, of course. American soldiers have not been slaughtering 300 Iraqis a day for the last four years. Even for one of Hollywood's most feculent personalities, this is an appalling slander of U.S. troops.

"The Iraq Body Count is an antiwar Web site that tallies all civilian deaths in Iraq as reported in the news media. Theirs is a comprehensive count that seeks to hold the United States and Britain accountable for a wide range of civilian deaths. ...

"The antiwar group's 'maximum count'? At the moment, 77,555. That's one-fifth the number concocted by Robbins's overactive imagination."

— From "Hollywood Hates the Troops," in the Sept. 10 issue of the Weekly Standard

Peace Activist Axes Dutch Student to Death Over Iraq War

The antiwar folks are such gentle souls. He "hates soldiers"? How can that be?

"He hates soldiers and says that the army kills people, so it would be legitimate if he were also to kill someone ... from the American military or from its NATO allies."

Attorney for Carlos Hartmann
Antiwar Activist and Axe murderer

An American antiwar activist butchered a Dutch student with an axe.
He was upset that the Netherlands had sent troops to fight in Iraq!

The murdered student, Thijs Geers, was waiting on the train platform when he was axed to death over "the war of Bush."

The antiwar activist spent the night in a forest outside a barracks in the Netherlands. Because he was unable to attack the barracks, he went to the train station and killed a 22 year-old student with an axe instead!

Russian RIA Novosti reported on the peace activist driven to kill:

THE HAGUE, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - A 41-year-old American attacked and killed a Dutch student, 22, as a protest against the Netherlands' involvement in the war in Iraq, the ANP news agency said Tuesday.

The attack took place Sunday evening when the American attacked the student with an axe in the waiting hall at a train station in the Dutch city of Roosendaal.

The American, whose name has yet to be released, was arrested at the scene of the crime. The student later died from his injuries in the hospital.

ANP reported that the American arrived in the Netherlands with the express intention of carrying out attacks on the Dutch military in revenge for the country's decision to send troops to Iraq.

However, after spending the night in a forest next to a military barracks, he eventually settled upon the student as a suitable victim.

Expatica is carrying this horrible story of the peace activist axe attack.

Dutch News is also reporting on the brutal murder.
WOOD8 reports that the antiwar killer, Carlos Hartmann, is from Michigan.

MORE... BN/De Stem quoted a witness who asked to remain anonymous as describing Hartmann as striking the victim in the back of the head with the axe. It also quoted an unidentified family member from the United States as saying Hartmann has suffered from emotional problems since his early 20s- AP.
