It looks to me that this qtr Intel will have approx same revenue and profit as it did in q3 '05.

I agree for revenues. Demand appears to be more price-elastic than i (and forecasters as well) expected it to be - which suggests a healthy condition of the market.
As for earnings - probably. While there is a lot between GM and earnings, is see Andy balancing SG&A. He is good at this, so unless charges impact the quarter much he might about show what you expect.

cost did not suffer in going from 90 nm to 65 nm.
Indeed. Intel did a great job in this node compensating yield-penalty from Netburst to Core and declining ASP by diesize-economies and other means which i thought would be very hard to fully achieve.
