That's pretty funny. What passes for economics education in most University settings is demand management Keynesian or worse Marxist/Socialist economics. You won't find them teaching Austrian except as an example of some weird libertarian variant. You'd be lucky to get Chicago School.

The very first photographer I ever worked for, after I graduated from art school with a degree in photography, was a photographer who never studied photography formally but who had a degree in economics, not from Towson but another local University. Since I was his assistant, we'd joke to clients that if I'd studied economics instead of photography maybe he'd be working for me.

This was 30 years ago. The punch line is that this guy not only routinely calls me to answer complex economics questions but I also manage his investment accounts.
