Focus on the glass as half full, not half empty. Democrats habitually view Iraq through a negative prism rather than acknowledging tangible progress. A pullout would merely delay future inevitable battles with insane jihadists. Denial won't eliminate that reality.

Britain has been in charge of security in the South since joining the US in the 2003 invasion. It's already transferred security responsibility to Iraqis in 3 of the four southern provinces. Basra would be the last.
