We should help the shieks keep al quaeda out of sunni areas but we can do that from fallback base areas and with special forces if the biden 3 sutonomous region plan is adopted. What we cant do is influence things in shiaaland. We can not get rid of the militias. We need to leave as the brits did. Let iran support shiaa iraq and lets how long the friction and ethnic hatreds stay out of that relationship. We should protect the kurds but insist on a shutdown of cross border incursions in turkey and in iraq. We should aid the sunnis in the fight against al quaeda. We should continue to press the shiaa to share the oil wealth nationally but if not, we should pressure the kurds to do that on their own with the sunnis.
