Yuppieville is buzzing with excitement today. At 6 pm the Carroll Dragons (80-1) play Miami NW, from Florida, in what is some sort of challenge rivalry thing that I don't understand (something to do with Texas claiming they have the best football teams, and Florida claiming the same). It is even being televised on ESPN-U from Ford Stadium at SMU.

We are going to some friends' for a football party and to watch the game. Or wake, whichever it turns out to be. At Costco, an hour ago, everyone was wearing Dragon paraphanalia. I have dug out my old Dragon polo shirt from swim team days, and I have on my dragon earrings and Dragon pin. Cars have Dragon banners flying. Dragon Spirit signs are in all the yards. You can feel the excitement.

It reminds me of Hoosiers, where the whole town turns out for the basketball games.
I hope Yuppieville isn't Muddville tonight.
