Yes, August, 15 was redemption deadline, and many funds will
have to comply by October, 1. They have 45 days. There will be
another redemption deadline, I'm sure, and maybe it is also
October, 1. A double whammy? I'm sure the dead men will no
longer be walking some time during the next 2 years as
mortgages reset. However, fixed mortgage rates have followed
TNX down, so it's much cheaper to get a mortgage now (for
qualified borrowers) than it was a month or two ago. 80 bp
cheaper.

I think dead men have been walking for a while now. The lack
of settlements in OTC derivatives has been known since 2004.
A few just flopped dead in June. Dead men have been walking
in Japan for almost 20 years now, with a few flopping dead
occasionally. Now, aren't those undead vampires? -g- If
we get a prolonged financial crisis, I think they will
just keep walking. -g-
