The Vermin is dead...SCOX files Ch.11

Sept 14 (Reuters) - Software licensing company SCO Group Inc (SCOX.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said it filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

In August, a U.S. court had ruled that the company did not have copyrights that are key to its claims of ownership of technology used in Linux software.

The court ruled Novell Inc (NOVL.O: Quote, Profile, Research), rather than SCO, owns copyrights to the UNIX computer operating system. (Reporting by Anup Roy in Bangalore)
