Critics say it's because of his political views. The UCI chancellor's explanation was rather vague, except of course for the denials that it was all about politics.

I saw it. Its very likely he was dropped for his political views. This week Manilow refused to go on the View because of Hasselbeck and her conservative views. Remember, the splintering sound you hear are the glaciers breaking off and the US coming apart at the seams.
