Gunmen kill central Mexican state police chief

6:42 p.m. September 13, 2007

MONTERREY, Mexico – Gunmen murdered a police chief in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi Thursday as he drove to a restaurant with his family, the latest killing in a spike in drug violence in Mexico.
A group of men shot dead state police chief Jaime Flores in a daylight ambush in the city of San Luis Potosi, destroying his SUV vehicle and leaving 40 bullet casings on the street, the state attorney general's office said.

“We believe drug gangs were behind this,” said a spokesman who declined to be named. Flores' wife and two children survived the attack.
Following months of ferocious killings in Mexico this year, drug violence appeared to calm as President Felipe Calderón sent troops to crush warring drug cartels fighting for dominance of smuggling routes to the United States.

But violence has again flared this month, with gunmen killing two federal officers in the northern city of Monterrey and seriously injuring a public sector worker in shoot outs in the city center this week.

Mexican police found the head of a police officer kidnapped by drug hitmen in the southern state of Guerrero Thursday, El Universal newspaper said.

More than 1,600 people have been killed in drug-related killings in Mexico so far this year and some 2,000 died in 2006.

Screamin' over Sen. Durbin's Bad Dream by: wgheen
Updated: 2007-09-19 13:10:09-05
By William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC

As the US Senate prepares to vote today on the 'Bad' Dream amnesty amendment offered by Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), that would grant four million illegal aliens amnesty and lead to the possibility of in-state tuition for their college education, the main stream media (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC) are focused on more important matters dealing with O.J. Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, and Brittany Spears.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) has contacted O.J. Simpson and Lindsay Lohan to get their perspectives on this important vote today. We are going to start contacting celebrities about the important issues that can completely alter American politics and the fabric of this nation. Perhaps, that way we can get the media to actually warn people when the Senate is going to vote on a massive amnesty bill that a majority of Americans oppose.

When contacted in jail about today's Senate amnesty vote, O.J. Simpson had not heard about it but offered these comments:

Most of the US Senate is White. That is why they can get away with murder, as a matter of speaking, while I take all the heat. What happened in that hotel room is much more important news than a Senate amnesty vote because I'm O.J. Simpson!

Lindsay Lohan had a different perspective on the approaching Senate amnesty vote presented here:

I'm going to support Dream Act amnesty. The gangs bringing in most of the illegal aliens and cocaine are going to be happy about this because it will increase demand for their services. I'm also considering a run for the US Senate.

Brittany Spears, the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby and the parents of Madeleine McCann could not be reached for comment about today's historic vote.

While most of America remains oblivious due to lack of coverage by the mainstream media, Internet organizations and talk radio show hosts are rushing to warn the American public that the Senate will begin debating the National Defense Authorization Act (HR 1585) at 9:30 a.m. EST TODAY! Durbin's Amendment (SA 2237) will likely be voted on today.

Durbin's attempt to attach amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act violates Senate rules and ethics that state that amendments must be relevant to the bill. Amendments dealing with amnesty for illegal aliens, increased visas, and a way for states to allow taxpayer subsidized college tuition for illegals is not germaine to the original bill.

ALIPAC helped defeat in-state tuition measures in three states including North Carolina, where polling data by the Civitas Institute shows that over 81% of likely voters oppose "Dream Act" legislation. The legislation was defeated in North Carolina, Virginia, and even Massachusetts by large margins!

Will four million illegal aliens receive amnesty today, while the mainstream media stays focused on useless celebrity gossip that has little to do with the health and wealth of America?

This press release is a parody intended to bring attention to how the corporate media in America is distracting the public with garbage while ignoring important news about illegal immigration that is vital to the health of the nation.
