I completely agree... the massive stadium subsidies help suck the life out of the arts/theater world and they are simply tranferred to ballooning player salaries. A few years ago I did a simple study that showed MLB salaries had been going up 19% per year compounded annually for 20 years.

It's like the housing subsidies and loan shenanigans -- short term "help" leads to much more expensive houses and they end up being just as hard to afford as before.
