More people in that picture to be sure, but also all nicely dressed and orderly -- looks more like a fire drill than a bank run mob

Re: Northern Rock, I wonder how much cash got sucked out of there today -- must have been a lot. Deposit insurance or not, this bank run stuff has now happened in a few places recently and that has to be spooking a few people who thought things like that couldn't happen anymore, especially with markets at highs

Ironically in the end it will up benefitting the bigger banks by scaring off deposits in smaller institutions, and then the big banks can get back to screwing us again with ridiculous fees and service charges like the good old days
