Wayne, i think your ultimate goal is a great one. saving is good and ought to be rewarded in a tangible way - especially for those folks where saving something will actually mean a difference in their quality of life (and not a reduction in everyone else's while everyone else has to support them). it is complex stuff, though, and government is actively subverting our interests in order to further their own. edition.cnn.com i bet a $4 meatball tastes awful good. the kickbacks must have been nice, too. i think teaching finances in grade and high school would be a no brainer way to start. i guess that means it will never happen.
