Once they go over 10 or 12 %, think about buying zero coupon bonds; 30 year ones, if possible. I think the first ones I bought were around 1980, at 15%. 23 of them; I'm thinking $75 for $1000 face. They matured few years ago. Had 2 more purchases, but I got reckless after the divorce ('99), and cashed them in early, and I'm sure lost more than I care to remember.
